The 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Current Issues in Linguistics and Professional Language Teaching: Trends and Prospects", hosted by Bauman Moscow State Technical University, is fast approaching.
The number of in-person participants contributing papers continues to grow, while the geographical representation of registered participants already encompasses numerous cities across Russia.
We are pleased to introduce one of the conference's plenary speakers — Irina Anatolyevna Martynenko, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor at the Department of English Language, Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL).

"A Multiparadigm Approach as the Basis for ESP Teaching Across Multiple Specializations at a Modern Law University"

The presentation will explore the specific features of teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) at a modern law university, using Kutafin Moscow State Law University as a case study. Particular attention will be paid to the organization of language training for future legal professionals, including compulsory courses for master's degree students and an additional four-year legal translation training program.
The presentation will also focus on the distinctive features of legal English (Legalese), including its vocabulary, grammar, and style, as well as differences between British and American legal terminology. The speaker will provide examples of teaching materials developed by university instructors using authentic sources and discuss contemporary methods of teaching foreign languages for professional purposes.
A key emphasis will be placed on developing students' specialized vocabulary skills and their ability to communicate effectively in English within the legal profession.
